Overview
Pierpointe is a 72-unit condominium community overlooking the Elizabeth River. The project, which was built on a pier reconditioned by the city, is a great example of a successful public/private partnership. In fact, Collins was the first builder to determine how to reconstruct the pier to accommodate new uses. Located across from the Nauticus National Maritime Center and the 1942 battleship USS Wisconsin, the community features two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, all with desirable open floor plans, generous terraces and harbor views. Sales began in 2000 and sold out in 2002 at record prices. Partners included Real Estate Capital Partners and Wachovia Bank. The project cost $21 million with a sellout of $27 million.
